When I was a small boy I had a very real dream in which I met a man in a white robe, in the dream he told me at the end of the dream the earth would end in the year3645 AD so to say that 2012 is the end of time surely won't worry me.

People also thought the world was going to end at the turn of the millenium, well here we are 2008 and we are fine. If anything destroys us first, it will be ourselves destroying our environment and global warming.

There are several known NEO's that are projected to pass very close to earth in 2012"..the problem is that the one that will get us will most likely have a sun-blocked path (i.e., coming from the opposite side of the sun towards earth) which doesn't allow telescopes to catch the motion to predict orbital parameters. By the time they see it, it will be too late. I can envision this scenario.

Time for me to preach about the basic plattform of ourselves. (to understand the bigger picture)
What are we? - Lifeforms.
Where are we from? - Lifeforms evolve in the correct circumstances. Life needs first of all an atmospehere. Second is heat. Chemical substances (like water) react with heat. The reaction can create life. It's a slow process. If you look at diffrent animals apart from us humans on planet earth, then you will see alot of resemblence to each other. We clearly evolved from the same source (sort of speak).
Are there other lifeforms besides on planet earth? - Yes, there is. The universe is full of life. For instance, did you know that NASA found and destroyed ancient structures (bases created by some very intelligent creatures) on the moon. The creatures that built this abonded moonbase are far more ahead in the technology than us. However, it's said that NASA has two space programs. One for the public and one that is top secret. It's said that NASA has a base on the moon for instance and that they have traveled furthur than any human is said to have traveled from our planet. Former NASA employees have claimed that NASA have reported over 70 diffrent creatures from diffrent planets/galaxies/solar systems. For the public, NASA is said to airbrush buildings on photos from the moon before releasing them.

Something that's also pretty cool is that more recent photos from planet Mars, show possible plants/trees and water gatherings like lakes and so on. Lakes with vegitation around it. It's also speculations of structures on Mars. It's said that they have found pyramid-like mountains or structures. If they are just natural mountains or built structures I don't know. But, since the universe is full of life, it's very possible that they are built by either creatures from the planet or creatures that traveled there. Is there a possibility for our planet to get struck by a giant comet? - Most defenetly. There are alot of debree that is flying around in space. I don't know how big the chances are of earth being struck though.
World leaders are preparing seedbanks on svaalbard. Do they know something that the public don't know? -They probably do. Once again I recommend you to watch the movie zeitgeist, if you trust your athority. They are pretty corrupted.

I'm not sure where all of you get your information from. But the Mayan's predicted something awesome to happen in 2012, to be exact Dec 20th 2012. What astronomers/researchers have found is that all the planets will be aligned, something that hasn't happened for thousands of years. There is no mention of a comet or a killer comet. Only that the Mayans had no way to predict an event, and yet the stars will be aligned on said date.

I'm not someone who has any skills or really knows about this kind of thing. But I do have an open mind, and my gut intincts tell me this will be a spectacluar event. Not something to " fear ", but yet something to embrace as it might be the next big evolution jump for humankind.

RIGHTO!!! Off Course the world would get destroyed but not by any Comet, but by our own deeds by increasing the Global Warming and polluting the environment as much as we can inspite of the so many natural warnings in the form of deadly Earthquakes, cyclones, Sunamees, Rita, Katreena and more. We should first concentrate to find the solutions to protect the mother earth by our own deeds rather than to worrying about the Comet threat.
